  • Finalists: Six designs from five designers were chosen as finalists from submissions, with voting open until June 12th.
  • Voting: Fans can vote for their favorite of the six finalist designs on the PSV website.

Update: The finalists of the PSV 26-27 third kit vote have been announced. Voting has already begun and will continue until June 12 on psv.nl/fandesign.

In the 2026-2027 season, Dutch club PSV will wear a fan-designed third football kit. PSV and Puma already launched the contest to design the third jersey for the 2026-2027 season on 18 March 2024, with entries being accepted until 31 March.

PSV 26-27 Third Kit Contest

Unlike traditional jersey design processes, which are usually conducted behind closed doors years in advance, this competition allows fans to not only get part of the process but also design the whole kit.

Indeed, the contest is very similar to the one of BVB for the 2023-24 season home kit, also conducted in partnership with Puma.

Design Submission and Selection Process

Fans could submit their designs until March 31. After the submission deadline, all entries were reviewed by a select group of prominent PSV figures, including Luuk de Jong, Marcel Brands, and Peter Bosz. This panel shortlisted a total six designs, created by five designers.

These six finalists were announced by the club on June 5, 2024, with the final vote taking place until June 12 on psv.nl/fandesign.

Design 1 by Koen Mantel

Koen's shirt, titled "Where stars are born," serves as a tribute to the promising talents of PSV, celebrating the club's rich history and bright future. The star pattern is inspired by the iconic Philips logo, honoring PSV's historical roots. The shirt features a contemporary color combination of dark purple and pink, inspired by the infinite universe.

Design 2 by Dirk van Gaal

Dirk's design aims to capture the essence of PSV, reflecting both its glorious past and vibrant present. The shirt incorporates elements that define PSV, such as the classic and current logos, the iconic stripes of the home shirt, and the energetic spirit of Eindhoven.

The design is enriched with Brabant blocks and a touch of Philips, finished in the characteristic Philips blue. Dirk's shirt is a tribute to the colors, the club, and the city, blending historical elements with contemporary vibes to celebrate PSV's enduring legacy and dynamic spirit.

Design 3 by Dirk van Gaal

Dirk's second shirt design highlights the unbreakable bond between PSV and its supporters. This design captures the unity and strength shared by the team and its fans. The shirt features classic stripes in red, white, and Philips blue, representing the colors seen in the stands at every home and away match.

Design 4 by Daan Sanders

Daan's shirt design centers around the color green, symbolizing growth and connection, values that have defined PSV since 1913. The shirt pays homage to De Herdgang, PSV's green oasis where talent flourishes, and De Wielewaal estate, where Mr. Frits lived and which will soon become a communal space for all of Eindhoven.

Subtle classic PSV stripes and a retro Eindhoven pattern are incorporated to bridge the past and present, creating a timeless tribute to the club.

Design 5 by Sander Herijgers

Sander's PSV third kit design for 2026-2027, named the "Eindhoven CITY MAP shirt," prominently features a green map of Eindhoven. The PSV logo is proudly placed on the left chest, woven into the map precisely where the iconic Philips Stadium is located, highlighting the city's beating heart. The shirt's green gradient further emphasizes this central theme.

The bright orange color serves as a signal color, representing passion, energy, and enthusiasm, and is synonymous with the Netherlands as a football nation. This vibrant color conveys a powerful message and adds to the shirt's dynamic appearance.

Design 6 by Esmee Dieteren

Esmee's shirt design, "For the colours, the club and the city," celebrates both PSV and Eindhoven. The design pays tribute to Eindhoven's iconic city logo.

Adidas CEO Wears Custom Hlaf-and-Half Mexico / South Africa Kit at 2026 World Cup Opening Match

Adidas CEO Björn Gulden caught the attention of football shirt fans at the opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup between Mexico and South Africa. For the occasion, Gulden wore a unique, custom-made half-and-half Adidas jersey combining the home kits of both competing nations.

The bespoke shirt features a direct split down the middle, merging the green base and red details of the Mexico 2026 home kit with the yellow and green design of the South Africa 2026 home kit. As both Mexico and South Africa are sponsored by Adidas, the mash-up served as a diplomatic and promotional choice for the brand's chief executive at the tournament's inaugural game.

This split Mexico and South Africa jersey is a one-off custom creation specifically made for the Adidas CEO and will not be available for retail sale. It highlights the brand's prominent presence at the 2026 World Cup right from the opening whistle.

Puma Czech Republic 2026 Kit Heavily Torn During Match

During a recent 2026 World Cup match, Czech Republic player Pavel Šulc experienced a significant kit malfunction when his Puma jersey was heavily torn. Images from the game show the shirt ripped in several places and hanging in tatters, drawing immediate attention from fans and spectators.

The incident has sparked criticism regarding the durability and quality of Puma's current national team kits. Fans on social media were quick to point out the extreme thinness of the material, with many comparing the fabric to paper. The scene also brought back memories of previous instances where Puma kits were easily damaged during major international tournaments, most notably with the Switzerland team at Euro 2016.

While modern football shirts are designed to be highly lightweight and breathable to aid player performance, this level of tearing raises questions about the balance between advanced materials and basic structural integrity. Puma has yet to officially comment on the exact cause of the material failure.
