According to Turkish journalist Haluk Yürekli, Galatasaray has formally requested an additional €5 million per year from technical sponsor Puma as part of their ongoing sponsorship agreement. The Istanbul giants, who entered into a high-profile kit deal with Puma ahead of the 2024-25 season, are said to be reconsidering the long-term future of the partnership if their financial demands are not met.

Galatasaray Reportedly Demand Extra €5 Million from Puma – Sponsorship Deal Under Review

In a recent meeting with Puma representatives, Galatasaray reportedly emphasized the club’s growing global presence, record-breaking shirt sales, and increasing commercial appeal. The club believes its market value justifies a significant increase in the current deal’s financial terms.

Puma, who replaced Nike as the club’s supplier, has two months to respond to Galatasaray’s request. Should the German brand decline the additional €5 million payment per year, sources suggest the club may terminate the partnership early and explore new options.

Galatasaray signed a 5-year kit sponsorship agreement with Puma, running from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2029. The agreement is just worth a fixed sum of €5 million/year - Galatasaray now wants double that.

It is very important to understand the nature of the Puma Galatasaray jersey deal. It is much bigger than the annual fixed sum suggests - Galatasaray gets very favorable merchandise royalties (Galatasaray's total merchandise revenue almost hit €100 million Euro in 2024.
