As Barcelona is playing away at RCD Mallorca, whose home kit is red and black, they cannot wear their new 25-26 home shirt. The logical choice would be to debut their brand-new 2025-26 "Mamba" away kit.
As you can see below, the new 'vanilla' colored away kit provides more than enough contrast with Mallorca's red and black home shirt, meaning there would be no issue with a kit clash.
Of course, the new 2025-26 third kit is not an option as it has not been released yet.
Despite having a perfectly suitable new kit available, the club has opted to wear last season's third kit instead. The reasoning behind this decision is unclear, but it is a very unusual choice for the first game of a new season.
