Liverpool Keeps Old Kit Font in 2025-26 Season Despite Adidas Deal

  • Kit Font Continuity: Liverpool will continue using the custom kit font introduced in the Nike era for the 2025-26 Adidas kits.
  • Club-Owned Design: The custom font is owned by Liverpool FC, not the kit supplier, ensuring consistent branding.
  • Precedent: Liverpool previously retained its font when transitioning from New Balance to Nike.

With the official launch of the new Adidas Liverpool kits for the 2025-26 season, a familiar detail remains on the back of the shirts. The club will continue to use the same custom kit font that was introduced and used during the previous Nike era.

Liverpool 25-26 Kit Font

The Adidas Liverpool 25-26 kit font was first introduced for the 2022-23 season. It has been used across the 23-24 and 24-25 seasons with Nike, and has now made its debut on the new 25-26 Adidas kits, as seen in recent pre-season matches.

This ensures a consistent identity on the back of Liverpool's shirts, proving that some design elements are owned by the club, not just the kit supplier.

While it may seem odd to see a font from the Nike era on a brand-new Adidas kit, the reason is straightforward. The custom font is not designed by the kit supplier (Nike or Adidas), but is a bespoke creation commissioned by Liverpool FC itself.

This is a similar situation to when Liverpool transitioned from New Balance to Nike in 2020, where the club's font also carried over for a period.
