Augsburg 25-26 "Fugger City" Special Kit
The Augsburg Fuggerstadt special football shirt, made by Mizuno, is inspired by St. Anne's Church.
Made by Mizuno, the FC Augsburg 2025-2026 Fuggerstadt special shirt is inspired by the St. Anne's Church, a historic landmark of Augsburg.
Color choices function as cultural codes throughout the jersey - the cream main color is linen-inspired, sponsor logos appear in a sleek copper finish referencing the Fuggers' legacy in raw materials trade. Pink accents draw from St. Anna's burial chapel ceiling frescoes, while blue and yellow recall the historic Fugger family colors, subtly connecting the design to both Bordeaux influences and dark green elements of FC Augsburg's identity.
The Augsburg Fugger City 2025-2026 special jersey features the Fugger family coat of arms as an all-over pattern subtly embedded into the fabric itself rather than applied as decoration, echoing Renaissance weaving techniques where stories and symbols were woven directly into cloth.
A custom typeface was created exclusively for the jersey, inspired by original Fugger manuscripts and Renaissance lettering. Notably, the back of the jersey replaces traditional "FC Augsburg" lettering with the single word "FUGGERSTADT".
The jersey incorporates the "Golden Gulden" tradition - residents of the Fuggerei, the world's oldest social housing complex, still pay an annual symbolic rent of one Rhenish Gulden (equivalent to €0.88 today). In this spirit, €0.88 from every special edition jersey sold is donated to the Fugger Foundations supporting social projects in Augsburg, maintaining the family's 500-year tradition of community responsibility.
