Nike 26-27 Elite Teams Overview: Only Six Clubs Retain Top Tier Status
- Nike's 26-27 Elite Clubs: For the 26-27 season, only six European clubs—FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Inter Milan, and Atlético Madrid—retain Nike's top-tier "Elite" status, reflecting a consistent trimming of Nike's portfolio.
- Benefits of Elite Tier Status: Elite clubs receive distinct advantages over second-tier teams, including custom bespoke designs for all three match kits, specialized typography, tailored secondary ranges, unique pre-match tops, and exclusive access to the 'Energy' lifestyle collection.
- Nike's Strategic Downsizing: This exclusive group of six reflects Nike's strategy to downsize its European club football footprint, allowing for focused design innovation, marketing, and deep storytelling, despite Adidas's aggressive expansion and limited room for new elite clubs.
Nike's top-tier club roster remains one of the most exclusive groups in modern football kits. For the 26-27 season, only six European heavyweights enjoy the American brand's full Elite treatment: FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Inter Milan, and Atlético Madrid. Over recent seasons, Nike has consistently trimmed down its portfolio to channel design innovation and marketing focus strictly into a condensed inner circle.
Nike 26-27 Elite Roster
Being part of the Nike Elite tier brings distinct benefits that second-tier and standard partner clubs simply do not receive. For 26-27, these six clubs are the only teams granted custom bespoke designs across all three match kits, specialized typography, and completely tailored secondary ranges. Smaller contracted teams typically rely on modified catalog templates or simplified training silhouettes.
Nike 26-27 Elite Bespoke Drops
The exclusive status of these six sides is clearly visible in Nike's latest apparel rollouts. Alongside their bespoke European third shirts, the 26-27 Elite clubs received unified third pre-match tops constructed with a repeating circular watermark graphic bearing each club's official name. Furthermore, Nike has rewarded this inner circle with the 26-27 'Energy' lifestyle collection, a retro-inspired capsule of long-sleeve jerseys heavily influenced by mid-to-late 1990s football culture and street style.
This tightened group of six reflects Nike's wider strategy of downsizing its footprint across European club football. In England, for example, the Swoosh now kits out just five of the 92 professional clubs in the pyramid for the 26-27 campaign. While Chelsea and Tottenham retain their place among the global elite, fellow Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion remain on a lower tier without access to bespoke pre-match and retro lifestyle lines.
With Adidas aggressively expanding its own elite roster in recent years, Nike’s focused lineup of just six clubs ensures deep storytelling for each partner, though it leaves little room for emerging clubs to break into the Swoosh's highest echelon.

No More Volt: Reebok Santa Cruz 26-27 Third Kit Released
Brazilian club Santa Cruz FC and Reebok have officially unveiled the team's new third kit for the 26-27 season. Titled "A Profecia de 57", the special-edition release celebrates two defining moments in the club's history: the 1957 anthem written by Capiba that coined the nickname "O Terror do Nordeste", and the 2016 Copa do Nordeste title that fulfilled the prophecy ten years ago.
The Reebok Santa Cruz 26-27 third jersey introduces an elegant black and gold design. Across the black base, intricate golden fractured lines trace the geographical outline of Brazil's Northeast region. The front of the shirt features Santa Cruz's classic interlocking SCFC monogram badge rendered in metallic gold, mirrored by Reebok's vector logo on the opposite side. A sharp v-neck collar with gold trim and matching sleeve cuffs complete the look.
Subtle commemorative emblems highlighting "A Profecia de 57" and "O Terror do Nordeste" decorate the release alongside gold numbering on the reverse. Matching black shorts and socks with gold accents complete the new Santa Cruz third uniform.
