Adidas is preparing a massive treat for fans of traditional German football. We can exclusively reveal that the Three Stripes will launch a special 1997-98 remake kit for 1. FC Nürnberg. This marks the very first time Der Club receives an official modern retro reissue from their technical partner, adding them to the brand's growing roster of elite heritage clubs.
The choice of 1. FC Nürnberg for a retro release makes perfect sense given the incredibly deep, intertwined history between the two Bavarian entities. As the club's supplier timeline shows, Adidas has outfitted FCN for the vast majority of the last 50 years. This includes an unbroken 18-year run from 1975 to 1993, followed closely by a massive 20-year stint from 1996 to 2016. Following their reunion in 2021, an official dive into this extensive shared archive felt like only a matter of time.
Nürnberg 26-27 Remake Kit
Adidas chose to remake the Nürnberg 1997 home kit, worn in 1997-98 & 1998-99 (with a different sponsor). The Adidas Nürnberg 1997-98 remake kit has a distinctive design in red, black, and white. The right side is mainly red, split by three stripes on the left, which is black.
A typical element of 1990s kits, the Nürnberg 97-98 kit comes with subtle shiny stripe detail and subtle embossed logos.
The Adidas Nürnberg remake kit will be launched in early 2027.
