To celebrate the Hindu festival of lights, FC Bayern Munich have teamed up with Indian contemporary artist Abhay Sehgal to create an exquisite, one-of-a-kind Diwali jersey. The bespoke piece serves as a cultural tribute to the club's passionate fanbase across India ahead of the festival on November 8.

This is the customized FC Bayern 26-27 Diwali shirt, handcrafted by Abhay Sehgal.
Crafted on the foundation of the third kit, the custom Bayern Munich 26-27 Diwali shirt blends European football aesthetics with centuries-old Indian artistic traditions. Sehgal transformed the dark purple and black base using authentic artisan techniques such as block printing and intricate hand embroidery.
An ornate floral pattern spreads across the body in shades of blue, lilac, and soft grey, punctuated by bright yellow flowers that represent light, optimism, and celebration.
Vibrant orange accents breathe new life into the collar, the Three Stripes, the club crest, and the Deutsche Telekom chest sponsor.
The artwork is further enriched with deeply personal and symbolic narrative illustrations. Among the central motifs is a child resting atop a cloud looking down at a clock tower - a nod to Sehgal's boarding school memories - accompanied by a shooting star, mountains, and majestic Indian elephants flanking a golden moon.
The composition symbolizes how every young child should have the freedom to chase their dreams in football, regardless of their background.
The unique jersey was presented directly to Bayern first-team stars, including Harry Kane, Serge Gnabry, and Luis Díaz, all of whom praised the craftsmanship and storytelling behind the piece. Kane expressed his gratitude to the artist for bridging cultures through sport and bringing such a meaningful concept from India to Munich.
