Saudi Arabia's 2034 World Cup Final Venue: King Salman International Stadium Details Revealed
Fresh details and visuals have surfaced regarding the King Salman International Stadium, which is slated to become the centerpiece of the 2034 FIFA World Cup in Saudi Arabia. Situated in northern Riyadh adjacent to King Abdulaziz Park, the monumental venue is designated to host both the opening match and the grand final of the tournament before serving as the permanent primary home for the Saudi Arabian national team.
Designed by renowned architecture practice Populous, the arena will accommodate roughly 92,700 spectators. The structure blends into the surrounding terrain with an organic, canyon-inspired exterior that incorporates living green elements, indoor gardens, sustainable cooling technology, and an accessible rooftop walking trail overlooking the city park. It anchors a wider master development exceeding 660,000 square meters, complete with training grounds, an indoor sports hall, an Olympic-standard aquatics center, and public athletic facilities.
Operated through a partnership between the Ministry of Sport and the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, the core stadium project carries an estimated cost of 7.5 billion SAR (approximately $2 billion USD). Construction is targeted for completion in late 2029, ensuring the venue is fully operational several years ahead of the 2034 tournament.
