Custom Mexican Flag Adidas Referee Kit at 2026 World Cup
Katia Itzel García recently made history as the first Mexican woman to referee a men's FIFA World Cup match, taking charge of the game between the Netherlands and Tunisia. To mark this milestone, FIFA equipped her with a specially customized Adidas referee uniform that pays homage to her home country.
The standard 2026 World Cup Adidas referee kit worn by García was personalized with custom lines featuring the colors of the Mexican flag. Subtle green, white, and red detailing was added to the uniform, providing a unique national touch to the official tournament referee apparel.
The customized details were highlighted in photos shared by kit account @TigresJersey. This small but meaningful modification sets the uniform apart from the standard gear worn by other officials throughout the tournament.

Tunisia Captain's Shirt Number Peels Off in 2026 World Cup Match
Tunisia captain Ellyes Skhiri experienced a notable kit malfunction during the 2026 FIFA World Cup Group F match against the Netherlands. The number on the back of his Kappa jersey began peeling off during the first half, leaving the digit hanging loosely from the shirt as he continued to play.
Despite the visible issue, the referee did not immediately intervene, allowing Skhiri to play on with the damaged kit for some time. The midfielder eventually had to change his jersey mid-game to resolve the problem. The kit trouble also caused a brief delay at the start of the second half, as Skhiri was late returning from the tunnel, leaving his teammates waiting on the pitch.
