Copy or Innovation? Joma Release Their First Knitted Boot

It's not a revolution anymore, but it's an interesting boot concept. Spanish brand Joma has released their first-ever knitted football boot, the new Joma Skin Regate. Designed for a sock-like feel, the Joma Skin Regate Indoor Soccer Shoes feature an entire woven upper.

In March 2014, Nike changed the design of football boots forever with the revolutionary Nike Magista Obra Boots. Designed for the creative midfielder, the Nike Magista Obra Cleats was the first non-limited boot to be knitted from heel to toe, while Adidas released the knitted but extremely limited Adidas Primeknit Cleats a few weeks earlier. Joma Skin Regate Indoor Football Boot

The new Joma Skin Regate Indoor Football Boot feature a woven upper, designed to offer a feel of wearing no shoes at all. Joma combines the woven upper with a reinforcement piece in the toe box area for increased durability.

The midsole area of the Joma Skin Regate Boots features additional threads for more stability, similar to the Nike Flywire threads. In fact, the arrangement of the threads is almost identical to Nike's trademark technology.

The Joma Skin Regate Indoor Football Boots feature a traditional low-cut design and a standard tongue, while Nike's knitted cleats boast the iconic Dynamic Fit collar to make a bold statement.

Design-wise, the Joma Skin Regate Indoor Boots were launched in two different colorways. The first colorway of the Joma Skin Regate Cleats combines the striking color fluorescent yellow (Volt) with black applications and blue details, while the second paint job of the Joma Skin Regate Boots is blue and orange with black brandings.

Designed for indoor courts and streets, the Joma Skin Regate Boots feature a Pylon midsole and a ultra-flexible non-rubber outsole with bending lines.

The Joma Skin Regate Football Boots retail at a price of just 70 Euro, which makes the much cheaper than comparable Adidas and Nike Indoor Football Boots. They are already available at selected retailers.
