- Special Edition Kit Font Release: SV Werder Bremen, following a brand refresh, has released a special-edition kit typography designed by Munich design studio Societas.
- Integrated Diamond Design: The unique kit font cleverly embeds the club's iconic Raute (diamond) directly into the bottom anchor and base of each numeral, creating a seamless typographic signature.
- Design Inspiration and Debut: The numbers draw proportions and serif details from Bruckmeyer Neue, a custom club font inspired by Günther Bruckmeyer, and debuted during the 100 Years Weserstadion anniversary match against Real Madrid Leyendas.
Following the launch of SV Werder Bremen's refreshed visual identity earlier this summer, Munich design studio Societas has shared an in-depth look at the club's newly developed special-edition kit typography.
Special Bremen Kit Font
This picture shows the bespoke kit numerals and lettering designed by Societas for Werder Bremen.
The special Bremen kit font cleverly integrates the club's iconic Raute (diamond) directly into the bottom anchor and base of each numeral. Rather than having a separate badge stamped onto the digit, the diamond form flows seamlessly into the stroke geometry, creating an unmistakable typographic signature on the back of the shirt.
The numbers themselves draw their proportions and serif details from Bruckmeyer Neue, the custom club font family introduced as part of Werder's 26-27 brand identity.
The serif styling is inspired by Günther Bruckmeyer, the graphic artist who designed the original Werder 'W' back in 1924, balancing traditional German typographic craft with clean legibility.
The bespoke typography made its on-pitch debut during the special 100 Years Weserstadion anniversary match against Real Madrid Leyendas. Club icons including Diego, Markus Rosenberg, Tim Borowski, and Aaron Hunt wore the dark green numerals applied to the back of their clean, all-white Hummel anniversary shirts.
