First-Ever Adidas Ace Artificial Grass Boots Leaked
Exclusive. Adidas is set to release the first-ever Artificial Grass version of the Adidas Ace with the launch of the next-gen Adidas Ace 16.1 2016 Football Boots. The traditional low-cut next-gen Adidas Ace 2016 AG Football Boot is set to be revealed in early February 2016.
In mid-January 2016, Adidas already launched the all-new revolutionary laceless Adidas Ace 16 PureControl Boots, making them only available as a FG version (there is no info if Adidas will also bring the AG sole plate to their laceless cleats).
Adidas Ace 16.1 AG Solar Green / Shock Pink / Core Black
This is the first-ever Artificial Grass version of the Adidas Ace Boots.
The most obvious difference between the FG and AG version is the sole plate. While the Adidas Ace 16.1 FG version comes with an all-new outsole that features an external heel counter and a traditional stud configuration, the next-gen Adidas Ace 16.1 AG Soccer Boot has no external counter but a semi-transparent AG plate. Interestingly, the AG plate of the new Adidas Ace AG boots is exactly the same as the AG outsole used for the last generation of the Adidas F50 Adizero and the first-ever Adidas X 15.1 Artificial Grass Boot, which is also set to be released in February.
Based on the synthetic Adidas Ace 16.1 Firm Ground (FG) version, the Adidas Ace 16.1 2016 AG Boots, strangely enough, also feature a slightly different design. Whereas the FG version of the Adidas Ace 15 comes with Three Stripes that just fade from black (top) to pink (bottom), the stripes of the next-gen Adidas Ace 16.1 AG Boots fade from black to pink and then again to black. Additionally, the Three Stripes are even continued on the sole plate.
The Adidas Ace 16.1 Artificial Grass version retails at the same price as the FG version (210 Euro, 200 USD, 150 GBP) and will be available from February 2016.
