First Time in History? All Germany Players Wear Nike Boots in 2018 World Cup Qualifiers Match

Update: All players of Germany's starting XI except Thomas Müller were sponsored by Nike and laced up in the boots of the US giant in yesterday's match against Azerbaijan. After Thomas Müller was replaced by Amin Younes in the 69th minute, all Germany players on the pitch wore Nike soccer cleats, very likely for the first time ever in the history of the German national football team.

Nike makes the cleats for 13 of Germany's 24 players nominated for the 2018 World Cup qualifier matches against Czech and Norway, while Adidas has 11 players under contract.

Interestingly, just as it was the case in last year's Euro, Puma makes the cleats for no Germany national team player (Marco Reus hasn't been called up since more than 12 months because of injuries), while Jonathan Tah (Under Armour) has also not been called up for almost one year now.

Germany's possible Starting XI, however, is dominated by Adidas with 7 seven players (Nike: 4 Players).
