Nike Dominates 2017-18 Bundesliga Kit Battle, Adidas Pulls Out

After we already took a detailed look at the different kit suppliers of the 2017-18 Premier League campaign, we now pull our attention to the kit makers of the 17-18 German Bundesliga season that will kick off next weekend.

The 2017-2018 Bundesliga jerseys are made by eight different brands, with Nike making the jerseys for six clubs, including 2016-17 Bundesliga runners-up Leipzig, German Cup finalist Eintracht Frankfurt and Hertha BSC.

Adidas comes second with three clubs, which is again less than in previous seasons as Ingolstadt was relegated. In fact, Adidas supplied the kits for six Bundesliga teams just 4 four years ago, while the German brand changed its strategy and now focuses only on 'top clubs'. Schalke is another team that will switch away from Adidas next year. Both Bayern and Hamburg have long-term contracts with the Three Stripes, however.

Puma, Lotto and Jako make the jerseys for two clubs, while Hummel, Erima and Kappa supply one team, respectively.

It is already known that there will be a lot of kit supplier changes next year, with Gladbach's (Kappa -> Puma), Schalke's (Adidas -> Umbro), Werder Bremen's (Nike -> Umbro) and Köln's (Erima -> Uhlsport) supplier switches already certain.
