Romelu Lukaku Signs with Puma

Just a few days after he made the switch in Belgium last pre World Cup friendly, Romelu Lukaku and Puma have confirmed that they've entered a partnership. Lukaku will wear the Puma ONE football boot.

Romelu Lukaku had been switching between Adidas and Nike boots since last year. He used the Nike Mercurial Vapor 360 in Belgium's friendly against Egypt on June 6 before lacing up in the new Puma ONE for the first time ever against Costa Rica on June 11.

Brokered by Roc Nation Sports, the deal was announced using cool imagery in the style of a music album cover.

Lukaku had the following to say about his switch to Puma: “Choosing an exclusive sportswear brand to work with is an important decision, not just for the boots on the pitch but for my goals and desires off of it. I look forward to hustling with the big cat in the future.”

Adam Petrick, PUMA Global Director of Brand and Marketing said, “Romelu is not only a hugely relevant, elite player due to his outstanding goal scoring record. We believe he is also a role model for a new generation of football enthusiasts, and an emerging icon who has his finger on the pulse of fashion and music. We are excited to partner with him on a wide range of projects across the PUMA brand.”
