PSG to Drop Emirates Shirt Sponsor
Paris Saint-Germain are set to lose their 'Fly Emirates' shirt sponsorship after the current season, French sports daily L'Equipe reports.
Dubai-based airline Emirates has been the PSG main sponsor since 2006, paying an estimated €25 million per season.
According to the report, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi asked for a raise to as much as €80m per season, something Emirates was not willing to meet.
PSG have already started to look elsewhere, reportedly, and an Asian insurance or electronics company could be an option. It's also possible that Qatar Airways could become the new Paris Saint-Germain jersey sponsor, but it's a problematic option due to the club being owned by Qatar and possible UEFA FFP consequences.
