100 Years Old | Full France Football FFF Logo History

The FFF (French Football Federation) celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. Nike released a special Centenary kit for that occasion - we take a look back the full logo history of the French Football Federation.

French Football Federation Logo History

The logo of the FFF has not playing a glorious role in the history of the federation. The kits of the French national team did not feature it at all. They always came with the cock ,which is much more recognized for the team than the FFF logo.

1919-1972

The FFF was founded on April 7 1919 as Fédération française de football association (FFFA) . The first logo of the federation did not feature a very professional style. It was only drawn in black and white. It consisted of a ball, a cock and the acronym FFFA. It was not used on any of the country's kits.

1972-1986

However, when France reached an agreement with Adidas about a kit deal in 1972, the first professional FFF emblem was introduced. This first 'real' logo combined the color gold with the colors of the French flag and brought the logo in the modern time. It again consisted of the famous cock, a football and the acronyms (now FFF).

1987-1995

In 1987, the FFF revealed another new logo that should be used until 1995. It has less in common with the first professional crest - it ditched the god color, and the cock was heavily stylized.

1995-1998

Three years ahead of their home World Cup, the FFF introduced another bold new logo change. It included the full name of the federation, the cock was reduced to its head, and the FFF was designed to showcase the French flag.

1998-2006

In 1998, after France's title victory in the 1998 World Cup, the shooting star was added to the logo as is customary for FIFA World Cup winners.

2007-2018

In 2007, the French Football Federation unveiled an all-new new, much more modern emblem. The rooster, the national symbol of France, is preserved as a tradition.

Since 2018

In 2018, following its second World Cup win, the France Football Federation revealed their current logo. It has a more flat look with the country's traditional blue and gold colors.
