4 SSC Napoli Players Sign Adidas Deal - Adidas To Also Sign Napoli Kit Deal?

SSC Napoli this week announced that Adidas signed four of their players, extending their collaboration with the Three Stripes brand.

In May 2018, Lorenzo Insigne moved over to Adidas as his technical sponsor, supporting reports Napoli were ready to drop Kappa and sign a new deal with Adidas.

Adidas & Napoli Announce Deal With Four Players

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis praised the “consolidation of our collaboration with Adidas” after four more players signed on.

Now SSC Napoli players Simone Verdi, Amin Younes, Elseid Hysaj and David Ospina are Adidas ambassador. Simone Verdi will wear the X18, Amin Younes and Elseid Hysaj the Copa 19, while the goalkeeper David Ospina, the Predator.

SSC Napoli Owns Image Rights Of Players

“With the signature of this important deal, which follows that of Lorenzo Insigne, the inclusion of another four of our players consolidates the collaboration with Adidas,” said President De Laurentiis.

“This agreement further reinforces our strategy of owning image rights, unique on the football landscape, and is another example of the way Napoli are making the most of their players in commercial terms.”

Napoli is a real unicum case in the management of image rights in the international football scene. The club claims 100% of the player's image rights, which gives the player higher gross wages while making it not possible to get money from indiviudal deals; Only Rafa Benitez, Pepe Reina, and Gonzalo Higuain own 50% of their image rights, while Marek Hamsik managed to obtain 100% of the rights to use his image in Slovakia.
