Source: Adidas Reportedly Stopped Paul Pogba’s Move To Real Madrid

Paul Pogba remained a Manchester United player for another year thanks to sportswear giants Adidas, it has been claimed by a source of British tabloid newspaper The Sun.

Adidas signed Pogba three years ago. They have a decade-long personal endorsement deal with the French World Cup winner worth £31m ($55.5m) until 2026. Adidas has a £750m ($1.3bn) agreement with Man Utd to make the club’s kit until 2024.

Paul Pogba Stayed At Man Utd This Summer After ‘Adidas Intervened And Vetoed Real Madrid Transfer’

Manchester United superstar Pogba was the centre of a summer of speculation that he would be quitting Old Trafford to join Real Madrid. However, according to a source of The Sun, Adidas got involved to say they wanted Pogba to remain in the Premier League at least for another year.

A source said: “They acted as peacemakers between the player, his agent and the club. Adidas were crucial in persuading all the parties to resolve their differences for another season.”

The Sun says that "Adidas are also the kit sponsors of Real, but if Pogba moved there he would become just one of a series of top names in the squad endorsed by the German brand, who also sponsor Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema." "But at Old Trafford he is the clear star name, and it is believed it was better business promotion-wise for Adidas if he stayed at the club."

Our Verdict On The Story: We do not think that this story is very legit, as we believe Adidas would be also very happy with Pogba at Real Madrid.
