Amazon To Become Tottenham Stadium Naming Sponsor?
English Premier League club Tottenham could have new stadium named by Amazon, according to a report of Daily Mail. Tottenham's new 62,000-seater stadium is currently known as the 'Tottenham Hotspur Stadium'.
Soon after Spurs' new stadium was opened last year, reports suggested Tottenham's kit manufacturers, Nike, would be naming the stadium. In April 2020, is still without a commercial name a year after it was opened.
Tottenham Looking For 250 Million, 10-Year Stadium Naming Rights Deal
"Sportsmail understands Amazon are substantially interested in a potential deal". According to the newspaper, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is reportedly wanting a £250million deal (£25m-per-season for ten years) for the stadium's naming rights.
Amazon are currently filming a behind-the-scenes documentary with Spurs, and have close links to the club.
The deal is apparently being held up by the current coronavirus pandemic. The report claims Spurs are concerned they will not be able to find the kind of deal they are looking for during the pandemic.
