Flamengo Fined by Conmebol For Breaking Kit Rules

It's not just in Europe that teams have to cope with more or less logical 'kit rules'. As reported by Renan Moura this week, Flamengo are facing a kit rules issue with Conmebol in relation to their new 2020-21 away kit. Thanks to @samaronylp for the heads-up!

Conmebol rules state that the winners badge has to be placed in the center of the shirt, a spot that is occupied by the Adidas logo on the Flamengo away shirt.

A disclipniary case was opened by the South American football federation after the winners patch appeared on the right in the Brazilian club's Libertadores match against Ecuador's Barcelona SC. As reported by Moura, Flamengo have until September 30 to reply and would otherwise face a USD 5,000 fine.

Paparazzo Rubro-Negro, a Flamengo fan site, chimed in a few days later, claiming that Flamengo were initially fined and also asked to change the shirt for the upcoming Copa Libertadores matches. @PaparazzoRN also created a mock-up of what a fixed version of the jersey could look like.
