Bad 2020-2021 with recolored crests include Hoffenheim's 20-21 pink third kit, Man Utd's 'legacy green' 20-21 away kit and Granada's 20-21 turquoise-yellow-black away kit.

Bournemouth hosted AC Milan in the Europa League at the Vitality Stadium, bringing the two clubs together for a meeting with a special connection.

Bournemouth’s iconic red-and-black stripes were inspired by Milan, who won the European Cup in 1969. Before the 1970-71 season, manager John Bond and chairman Harold Walker introduced the design after a difficult period that saw the club drop into the Fourth Division.

More than 50 years later, Bournemouth faced their kit inspiration in European competition and came away with a 3-0 victory over the Rossoneri.

Why Football Teams Are Forced to Remove Kit Sponsors in UEFA Competitions

Every season across the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League, eagle-eyed supp...

Every season across the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League, eagle-eyed supporters notice clubs taking to the pitch in sponsorless shirts or sporting unexpected charity logos. While UEFA's own kit equipment regulations do not place an outright ban on gambling or betting partnerships, Article 44 explicitly requires participating clubs to comply with the local legislation of the match-hosting nation. When a team travels to a country with strict bans on sports betting and gambling promotion, their regular commercial sponsors cannot appear.

This dynamic has created some iconic European kit moments over the decades. In the late 2000s and early 2010s, both AC Milan and Real Madrid frequently had to strip the bwin logo from their jerseys when playing away in countries like France and Switzerland due to local gambling restrictions. In recent years, Spain's Royal Decree 958/2020 banned betting advertising in sport, forcing teams like Inter Milan to drop Betsson.sport and VfB Stuttgart to wipe Winamax from their chests during visits to Spanish grounds.

Rather than leaving the chest completely blank, several clubs choose to use these matches for charitable causes or secondary sponsors. FC Copenhagen notably replaced Unibet with the Danish Red Cross, while Celtic routinely substitute long-term sponsor Dafabet with the Celtic FC Foundation whenever they travel to nations like Italy or Spain. Aston Villa similarly replaced Betano with financial app Acorns for trips to Switzerland. As advertising regulations across Europe continue to tighten, these temporary kit makeovers remain a regular and fascinating feature of continental football.

Atlético Mineiro has officially revealed the winning design for the 26-27 Manto da Massa kit, created in partnership with Nike. Following a fan vote that generated more than 30,000 votes, the third finalist model, titled "A tradição que permanece", won emphatically with 17,878 votes (59%). The final design was developed by Nike based on input and suggestions submitted by more than 10,000 club members.

The Nike Atlético Mineiro 26-27 Manto da Massa shirt introduces a bold departure from traditional vertical stripes, featuring wide horizontal black and white hoops inspired by the large flags waved by supporters in the stands. The look is elevated by metallic gold accents on the overlapping V-neck collar, sleeve cuffs, side seam piping, and the embroidered Nike Swoosh. Completing the retro aesthetic, the left chest features the club's historic 1950 crest alongside the iconic anthem motto "Uma vez até morrer."

In a historic first for the initiative, the 26-27 Manto da Massa shirt will actually be worn by the first team in an official match during the 2027 season. The kit is priced at R$399.99 across men's, women's, and children's versions, with exclusive pre-sales launched for Galo Na Veia members before opening to the general public.
