Hummel To Make 1. FC Köln Kits From 2022

German Bundesliga club 1.FC Köln have agreed a kit maker deal with Hummel, according Cologne-based newspaper Express.

Köln has been sponsored by Uhlsport since 2018. They signed a four-year deal worth 2.5 million Euro / season until 2022. Uhlsport initially even wanted to get out of the contract ahead of schedule, as they are hardly hit by the COVID-19 crisis as a teamwear supplier.

According to Express, Hummel is the clear favorite to succeed Uhlsport. The deal could become official very soon.

The numbers that are being circulated are impressive, especially in the Corona crisis. According to information from Express, 1. FC Köln will get around four million euros per season (including possible variable payments). The agreement will be valid for five years, i.e. until the 2026-27 season.

Three other brands would have been also in the race for Köln's kit - New Balance, who dropped out early, as well as Capelli, who even made a higher offer than Hummel - but Köln decided for the more renowned Hummel brand.
