Memphis Depay & James McClean Wear Unique Nike Mercurial Boots - Here is Why
Ahead of the international matches this week, Dutch international Memphis Depay and Irish international James McClean have been spotted wearing bespoke Nike Mercurial Superfly 8 boots.
Memphis Depay Wears Custom Nike Mercurial Boots Without Swoosh
An extraordinary look, Memphis Depay's custom Nike Mercurial Superfly 8 boots combine a clean upper with pinkish and blue design elements. The sole plate boasts a golden metallic effect.
Instead of the Swoosh, Depay's boots come with his trademark Ivory on the instep.
Even though it is not certain, we are pretty sure that the main reason for Depay wearing these custom boots is that he doesn't want to give free advertisement to Nike - his deal with Under Armour is certainly over. Another reason is surely that he loves custom boots and that he was supplied with custom footwear by Under Armour for several years.
James McClean Wears Ireland Mercurial Superfly 8 Boots
Irish international James McClean laced up in custom Nike Mercurial Superfly 8 soccer cleats inspired by the flag of Ireland. On the instep is his signature JMCC11, while the outstep comes with a white outlined Swoosh.
The reason for McClean to wear this custom boots is not that he does not want to show the Swoosh but just because he is an aficionado of soccer cleats - he is wearing limited-edition as well as custom Nike boots regularly.
Tech-wise, the cleats of both players are identical to standard Mercurial Superfly 8 colorways. Both have been created using Nike's customization service Nike By You.

Adidas Germany 'Alternate History' 1992 Collection Leaked
Update - Friday, May 22, 2026: Thanks to our follower @Julifu90, we have an image of the t-shirt of the Adidas Germany EQT 1992 retro collection. It is set to be released in the coming days.
We have the first image of a unique new Adidas Germany retro jacket, showcasing an intriguing new approach from the sportswear brand.
While the design instantly evokes strong nostalgia for the 1990s, this upcoming release is actually an "alternate history" creation. Despite its highly authentic vintage appearance and period-accurate details, this specific track jacket never actually existed in the official Adidas catalogues during the 1990s, making it a brand new addition to their retro-focused lifestyle collection.
To achieve this convincing old-school aesthetic, Adidas has utilized their classic 1992 template as the structural foundation for the design. The garment features a vibrant green base that heavily nods to Germany's traditional away kits of the era. The colors of the German national flag are cleverly completed on the sleeves through large geometric blocks that also recreate the 3 stripes.
The same jacket will also be released for Spain and other Adidas national teams.
