Nike Liverpool 2021-22 105 GBP Authentic vs 70 GBP Replica Kit

The new Nike Liverpool 2021-2022 was again released as an authentic and replica edition - we compare the "Player Issue" with the "Fan" version, revealing that they are pretty different. All pictures by Thai Liverpool fanatic MildPiakbangyai.

From the 2021-22 season, Nike's authentic jersey technology is called "Dri-FIT ADV" instead of "Vaporknit" - tech-wise, Dri-FIT ADV is an evolution of Vaporknit.

Nike Liverpool FC 2021-22 Authentic vs Replica Kits

The Nike LFC Stadium Home shirt is the replica (Fan) version, while the Vapor Match is the authentic (Player Issue version).

Nike's replica has not really changed in the past 15 years

Design

Design-wise, Nike's authentic and replica jerseys have the same elements. As has been the case with Nike's 2021-22 LFC kits, the Liverbird crest, and the Nike logos are very different (heat printed vs stitched and the label on the bottom left (authentic - gold, replica - silver).

The most important difference is likely that the Dri-Fit ADV kit comes with a unique knit pattern for optimal breathability.

Authentic Liverpool 21-22 Home Kit

The Liverpool F.C. Authentic Shirt is the same as worn by the players.

Material - Dri-FIT ADV

Nike Dri-FIT ADV technology combines moisture-wicking fabric with advanced engineering and features to help you stay dry and comfortable. Raised knit in high-heat areas provides additional breathability where you need it most.

Replica Liverpool 21-22 Home Kit

Dri-FIT Technology helps keep you dry and comfortable.

Tech

Tech-wise, the replica Nike 2021-2022 kits appear to be the same as of the 2020-21 season, while the authentic one has been improved.

The Nike 21-22 "Dri-Fit ADV" authentic kits feature "raised knit in high-heat areas".

The replica jersey is made with Nike Dri-FIT technology. It is the same knit all over the shirt.

Nike increased the price of the authentic kit by 5 GBP

Tag

Another interesting element of Nike's 21-22 kits is the new tag. The tag is now brownish, made from recycled materials. Both products (authentic & replica) are made from at least 75% recycled polyester fibres.

Price

Nike has increased the price of the Nike Liverpool Authentic 2021-2022 kit by 5 GBP - it now retails at a price of 105 GBP, while the replica kits have an official price tag of 70 GBP.

Authentic & Replica kits look very similar from far but are very different from close

Conclusion:

Nike's authentic and replica jerseys are very similar in terms of design but very different in the terms of tech, feeling & fit. The authentic Nike kits have been enhanced very much in the past few years, while the replica has been more or less the same as in the past 15 years.

Puma Kits Keep Ripping at the 2026 World Cup

Puma is facing significant criticism at the 2026 World Cup as multiple national team jerseys have easily ripped during matches.

Incidents involving players from Czechia, Morocco, Egypt, and Paraguay have highlighted an ongoing durability issue with the brand's latest kits - every torn shirt in the tournament so far belongs to a Puma-sponsored team.

The Puma 2026 World Cup kits incorporate the latest version of PUMA's ULTRAWEAVE “Thermoadapt” technology, which obviously is not tear-resistant enough.

The recurring wardrobe malfunctions have resulted in terrible PR for the German sportswear manufacturer and even prompted the viral resurgence of Xherdan Shaqiri's infamous quote from Euro 2016, where he joked that he hopes Puma does not produce condoms.
