Real Madrid Emirates Deal to End in 2022?
Real Madrid and the airline Emirates have been partnered for over ten years. Througout the last nine seasons, Emirates have paid the Spanish club enormous sums of money to feature as their main shirt sponsor.
Will Emirates Stay With Real Madrid Beyond 2022?
Back in 2017, it was reported that Emirates and Real Madrid had extended their partnership until the end of the 2021-22 season. Now that this point in time is arriving, there have still not been any known contract renewals during the past five years.
This implies that Real's current Emirates deal, valued at 70 million Euros per year, could come to an end in summer of 2022. When the sponsorship was renewed in 2017, the current deal at the time was only due to expire in 2018, meaning Real and Emirates extended their partnership a year in advance.
Seeing as in 2021, Real Madrid and Emirates did not extend their deal in advance, perhaps the club were not as keen on early negotiations and agreements with the airline. Maybe they are open to other brands seeking their shirt sponsorship.
In any case, the two parties still have several months to agree upon a new contract, so Emirates are certainly still in the running for appearing on Real Madrid's shirts in future seasons.
