Liverpool to Get New Main Sponsor? In Talks With Crypto Companies

Update: Liverpool may become the first Premier League club to have a cryptocurrency firm as main shirt sponsor, according to The Athletic. Crypto companies would be among those in talks to take over from 2023 if Standard Chartered don’t extend. Liverpool FC want more than £70 million over 2 years, an outcome is likely in around eight weeks.

Among those cryptocurrency companies is a crypto exchange firm (a platform to buy and sell digital currency) - and a blockchain platform (a decentralized computer network that underpins cryptocurrencies).

Liverpool launched a series of NFTs last month. The backlash from the fans was heavy.

Liverpool would be also talking to companies from other sectors, including electronics, media and tourism.

Premier League powerhouse Liverpool could have a new main sponsor from 2023 when the deal with Standard Chartered ends, according to a report of The Athletic (paywall).

Liverpool's Standard Chartered deal runs out in summer 2023

Liverpool's Standard Chartered's £40m a year shirt sponsorship deal with Liverpool runs out at the end of next season.

"Liverpool In Talks With Three Companies About New Main Shirt Sponsor"

Chevron, the American multinational energy (oil) corporation, are one of the three companies (mock-up by @lfcdzn11).

There is "no guarantee at this stage that Standard Chartered will extend the contract. Discussions with a number of companies are still ongoing." Liverpool wants to receive more than the current 40 million pounds per season.

Liverpool and Standard Chartered say talks are continuing and no decision has been made on whether their partnership will continue.

It’s expected the new deal will be one of the biggest in Europe

According to Liverpool fan Grizz Khan, "Chevron are one of the three companies interested and in talks in becoming the new shirt sponsors for Liverpool. It’s expected the new deal will be one of the biggest in Europe".

Liverpool editor @LFCDZN11 created different mock-ups of the 22-23 home kit with different company logos, including iconic sponsor Carlsberg and Tesla.

FIFA Changes Brazil Goalkeeper Kit for Scotland Match

FIFA has implemented a late change to Brazil's goalkeeper kit for their 2026 World Cup Group C encounter with Scotland. Initially slated to wear a red outfit, the Brazilian goalkeeper will now wear green for the match on June 24.

The reasons for the switch are not known.

Official match kit graphics confirm the switch, showing the Brazil goalkeeper in a dark green jersey, paired with matching dark green shorts and socks. This green kit is one of the primary options in Brazil's wardrobe for the tournament. Their opponents, Scotland, will have their goalkeeper dressed in a grey kit.

The update was brought to attention by Brazilian kit specialists Mantos do Futebol. The released FIFA match kit table visually confirms the swap from the originally planned red Nike goalkeeper shirt to the green alternative, alongside the outfield kits of both nations.

Football kit account @The_Kit_Parade has reimagined various European national teams using Germany's 2026 World Cup home shirt template.

The graphic applies the distinct pattern to countries including England, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and Sweden. While the design adapts seamlessly to neutral and white bases, with the Irish, Dutch, and Welsh concepts receiving particular praise from fans, others like the Spanish edition proved more divisive due to clashing colors.
