Meanwhile, Saka's socks featured two holes that looked like a quality issue - but it was not one. This becomes obvious when checking images of previous games in which Saka had holes in his socks that looked not random.

So, what is the reason for the holes? The holes were cut into the socks to reduce the tension placed on the calf muscles and consequently reduce pain in the latter stages of a match.
