Augsburg Leave Nike for Mizuno

Last night, German club FC Augsburg had their annual general meeting. One important announcement was made regarded their kit supplier, which will no longer be Nike from 2023.

Augsburg Join Mizuno

FC Augsburg announced that they have signed a five-year contract with Japanese brand Mizuno.

This deal will have two major improvements over the 9-year-long Nike era. Firstly, the yearly payment by Mizuno will be around 1.4 million Euros, dwarfing Nike's 700,000 Euros.

The second benefit under Mizuno will be that fans get a say in the kit designs, something Nike did not offer.

Augsburg are the second German club to be outfitted by the Japanese sportswear brand, after they signed with Bochum for 2022.

What do you think of this kit deal? Will Mizuno make better Augsburg shirts than Nike did? Comment below.
