LEAKED: Nike to Release Special-edition 25th Anniversary Mercurial Boots Next Year

Nike are set to launch a 25th anniversary edition of the Mercurial next year, according to Gol de Sergio.

The first-ever Nike Mercurial was released in time for the 1998 World Cup in France, where it was famously worn by Ronaldo.

The special-edition Nike Mercurial Superfly 9 XXV boots will be predominantly Metallic Silver, while "Volt" and Black are listed as secondary colors.

While its not explicitly mentioned, we think that the boots will be closely inspired by the original 1998 Mercurial and therefore also feature blue. This is unconfirmed at the time of writing.

It won't be the first time for Nike to release a remake of the 1998 Mercurial, having already done so on multiple occasions including for the 15th anniversary in 2013.
