Martinez Earns 3-Star Custom Gloves and Boots Following Argentina World Cup Glory
The special gloves are his currently used Predator Edge Pro series with a pink, black, and white colour combination but with 3 stars added, celebrating Argentina’s third World Cup victory last year. Meanwhile, the boots are the Predator Edge.1 with a similar colour combination to the gloves.
On the gloves, the 3 stars are placed on the palm while for the outer part there is the inscription 'Campeon del Mundo 2022'. As for the boots, the same elements can be found again, this time with a small Argentina flag. Martinez is yet to debut the 3-star gloves and boots as Aston Villa’s latest game was last Saturday, January 21 against Southampton. In that game, the ex-Arsenal man was wearing his regular Predator gloves and boots.
The 30-year-old certainly deserved his special custom gloves as he played a vital part in Argentina’s World Cup victory. Martinez put on strong performances throughout the tournament, including the final against France, in which he saved a penalty during the shoot-out while his mind games also affected Aurelien Tchouameni to miss his crucial kick.
His fine display in that tournament eventually earned him the golden gloves award as the best goalkeeper during the World Cup.
Adidas have also added three stars to Argentina’s official match kit which was debuted recently by the Albiceleste’s Under-20 squad. Meanwhile, the senior team are scheduled to wear their 3-star kit for the first time in March 2023.
Martinez could potentially play with his Adidas 3-star gloves and boots this weekend as Aston Villa host Leicester City in their latest Premier League fixture.

Adidas Germany 'Alternate History' 1992 Collection Leaked
Update - Friday, May 22, 2026: Thanks to our follower @Julifu90, we have an image of the t-shirt of the Adidas Germany EQT 1992 retro collection. It is set to be released in the coming days.
We have the first image of a unique new Adidas Germany retro jacket, showcasing an intriguing new approach from the sportswear brand.
While the design instantly evokes strong nostalgia for the 1990s, this upcoming release is actually an "alternate history" creation. Despite its highly authentic vintage appearance and period-accurate details, this specific track jacket never actually existed in the official Adidas catalogues during the 1990s, making it a brand new addition to their retro-focused lifestyle collection.
To achieve this convincing old-school aesthetic, Adidas has utilized their classic 1992 template as the structural foundation for the design. The garment features a vibrant green base that heavily nods to Germany's traditional away kits of the era. The colors of the German national flag are cleverly completed on the sleeves through large geometric blocks that also recreate the 3 stripes.
The same jacket will also be released for Spain and other Adidas national teams.
