Hamburg to Replace Adidas With Castore or Umbro as New Kit Sponsor?

Hamburger SV are reportedly considering one of Castore or Umbro as the 2. Bundesliga outfit's new kit sponsor replacing Adidas.

Hamburg have been collaborating with Adidas since 2014 but that deal will come to an end in 2024 and a new agreement is not a sure thing.

Hamburg Consider Umbro or Castore to Replace Adidas

According to Bild newspaper (via fussball.news), Der Dino are still keen on extending their agreement with the Three Stripes but will also consider other manufacturers.

If HSV do part ways with Adidas, the club are considering one of Umbro or Castore as their new kit sponsor.

From the two, Castore seem to have a headstart, as they have shown interest in signing with Hamburg since last year. Previously, we already reported about the manufacturer’s plan to become HSV’s new kit sponsor after the club’s Adidas deal ends in 2024.

Castore to Sign Hamburg Kit Deal?

Reporting about the imminent deal between Castore and Feyenoord, Dutch outlet AD mention Hamburg as another potential target for Castore.

However, Umbro remain a strong candidate as they have a past history of collaboration back from 1965-1966 and 1974 to 1977. That background could potentially give Hamburg a strong preference to pick Umbro as the club's future kit sponsor.

Hamburger SV Kit History

Either way, the best possible situation for Hamburg to get a new and better deal after 2024 would be by getting a promotion to the Bundesliga. Despite playing in the 2. Bundesliga, HSV’s kit sales are quite strong as they already sold around 70,000 jerseys so far this season.

Moreover, a promotion to Bundesliga might also trigger Adidas' interest to extend their 10 years of partnership as that options remain a possibility.
