Villarreal Debut Centenary Kit in La Liga - Celebrating 100th Anniversary

La Liga outfit, Villarreal finally debut their centenary kit during their weekend league clash against Real Betis at the Estadio de la Ceramica.

Villarreal Wear Centenary Kit to Celebrate Their 100th Year Anniversary

The match against Real Betis on Sunday is part of The Yellow Submarine's centenary celebration, although the club's official founding date is on 10 March 1923. Nevertheless, it was the best moment to wear the special centenary kit as the game was played in front of their home crowd.

That game was certainly quite special as before the match started, Gloria and Delfina Calduch (age 93 and 95), the daughters of the club's founder both participated in the kick-off. Unfortunately for the Yellow Submarine, that special game didn't end in the best possible fashion as they only managed to pick up a 1-1 draw.

The Yellow Submarine had already released their special kit back in December 2020 but has never worn it until the Sunday match.

Villarreal Held its 100th Anniversary Party On March 10, 2023

A slightly disappointing outcome not only because of the strong performance from Quique Setien's men but also because it was just two days after their big centenary celebration. Before the weekend match which saw their centenary kit debut on the pitch, Villarreal held a big party at their stadium dedicated to all of their fans.

The players also attended the party as they celebrate by lifting the UEFA Europa League trophy which they won in the 2020-21 season. However, the Villarreal stars didn't wear their centenary kit during that 100th-year anniversary celebration. It looks like they do prepare their centenary for their weekend La Liga home game against Betis.

The Villareal centenary kit is still available for purchase in the club's official store and it retails at €69.90.
