No More Adidas: Russia Announce Jögel Kit Deal
Replacing Adidas, the Russian Football Union (RFU) have signed a deal with Jögel, a smaller local brand. Adidas of course suspended their deal with the federation after Russia invaded Ukraine early last year.
The main focus of their collaboration will be the provision of equipment for the Russian national teams. The agreement is set for two seasons (until 2026), with the national teams expected to don new equipment starting in 2024.
Maxim Mitrofanov, Secretary General of the RFU, expressed satisfaction with the partnership, emphasizing that Jögel was selected as the technical partner due to their resources, experience, and ability to produce the required volume and quality of equipment. Additionally, being a Russian company committed to creating a world-class product and prioritizing social responsibility and the environment, Jögel's collaboration is expected to strengthen the development of football in the country.
Mitrofanov also highlighted the benefits of working with a domestic manufacturer, as it would provide high-quality and affordable equipment not only to the national teams but also to numerous young players involved in grassroots and reserve training systems.
