Adidas Schalke 23-24 Special Kit Design Contest Launched

Schalke 04 have announced a unique opportunity for young fans to design a special jersey that the team will wear to a league match in the 2023-2024 season. The jersey design group will be made up of eight young fans aged 18 to 25.

The Schalke kit contest comes 18 months after their rival, Dortmund, launched a competition for their already-released 2023-2024 home kit. BVB, of course, were not the first club to have a design competition for their kit.

The Adidas Schalke 04 2023-24 special football shirt will feature a one-of-a-kind design.

Created in cooperation with retailer 11teamsports, the Adidas Schalke 23-24 special jersey is likely based on standard Adidas design with custom graphics added by 11teamsports.

The selected members will travel to Adidas' headquarters in Hezogenaurach, Franconia, Germabny on September 15 and 16 to work with experts from the Schalke outfitter on the development of the special jersey. Travel to and from the event, meals, and accommodation will be provided, and the weekend will conclude with a joint visit to the home game against 1. FC Magdeburg at the VELTINS Arena.

The selected individuals will also have to familiarize themselves with the DFL kit guidelines.

The application phase for the design workshop is now open for adult members up to 25 years of age and runs until September 6. No previous experience in graphics or similar is necessary.

The Adidas Schalke 04 2023-24 special football shirt is available to purchase "from 2024".

Schalke 04 board member Christina Rühl-Hamers expressed her gratitude to the partners for making the campaign possible. "Everyone agrees that with the involvement of our young members, we will design an unprecedented jersey full of creativity for Schalke 04," she said.
