No More Redout Boots: Havertz Completes Puma Switch

Update: German sports company Puma now officially announced "a new long-term partnership with Kai Havertz", the German International and Arsenal player. Havertz will become one of the faces of the Future silo, and Puma "are excited to sign a player who is regarded as the future of German football".

Footy Headlines predict the deal will be valued at 1-4 million Euros per year

Puma did not announce the length of the partnership and did also not announce if Havertz will get signature boots. It is also not known how much money Havertz will earn from the deal, but Footy Headlines expect the deal to be worth between low to mid millions of euros per year (1-4 million Euro).

Upon sealing the partnership, Kai expressed his excitement about joining Puma.

“Growing up in Germany Puma has always been an iconic brand with some of the greatest players ever wearing their products. PUMA has always been an innovative brand when it comes to football boots and the way they work with athletes. When I met with the team and discussed plans for the future, I knew this was the right fit for me. They understand athletes and really want to collaborate with their players; it really is a family atmosphere.”

Will Havertz get signature boots? "We are working on some exciting projects"

“Wearing the FUTURE boot is the perfect fit for my game and is a boot I was eager to move into, there is no other boot like it. PUMA is not only excelling as a brand on the pitch but is also making huge waves in other areas of sport and fashion. We are working on some exciting projects, and I am looking forward to what the future holds,” said Kai Havertz.

Johan Adamsson, Global Director of Sports Marketing and Sports Licensing at Puma, said:

“We’re thrilled to have Kai join our family and begin the next chapter of his career together. Kai has achieved so much already. With his quality and positive attitude, we are convinced he is going to remain at the heart of his Club and National team for many years to come. He is an elite athlete with very high aspirations both on and off the pitch, and we look forward to working closely together across many exciting initiatives.”

Update 24 September 2023: This week, Havertz switched to "red-out" Puma boots, suggesting that an official announcement of his switch from Nike to Puma could be imminent .

Update: Kai Havertz has ditched his Nike Phantom GX boots for a pair of Puma Future Ultimate blackout shoes at his latest training session with the Germany national team. Thanks to 11Teamsports for pointing this out.

Kai Havertz x Puma Future Ultimate

Although Havertz wore Nike Phantom GX boots in the last match against Manchester United, he switched to Puma Future Ultimate when he met the German team. This implicitly shows that Kai Havertz will be joining Puma in the near future.

Arsenal player Kai Havertz appears poised to part ways with Nike in favor of Puma. This transition became evident when Havertz attended Germany's training camp sporting a complete Puma tracksuit, signaling a probable shift in his sponsorship allegiance. Thanks to our follower Timo for the heads up.

Havertz, a key figure in Germany's national team, is preparing for upcoming friendlies against Japan and France. He did so wearing blackout Puma Future boots in training, sharing a picture from he session on his Instagram.

There hadn't been any indication of an imminent brand switch, and Havertz did wear his regular Nike Phantom GX boots against Manchester United on the weekend.

But him wearing a full Puma tracksuit as well as blackout Puma boots in training is very significant and it's likely that he will officially join Puma in the future.

Either way, we will keep an eye on the situation as it evolves.
