With his contract with Adidas set to expire at the end of 2022, James has worn a variety of boot brands including Nike Tiempo, Mizuno Morelia Neo 3 and since August until now, he regularly wears New Balance Tekela shoes.

After an outstanding performance at the 2014 World Cup, James became the top star at the time. However, James was unable to maintain his form and played increasingly poorly. As a result, Adidas decided not to renew James' contract at the end of 2022.

Interestingly, New Balance will also be making the kits of São Paulo from 2024, replacing Adidas. James Rodríguez's deal with New Balance could extend beyond just his football boots.
