Nike Has Removed CR7 Label From Latest Mercurial Dream Speed Boots
- CR7 Label Removal: Nike removed the CR7 label from the exterior of the Mercurial Dream Speed 8 boots, placing it only on the insole, a change that also occurred with the Dream Speed 7.
- Prototype vs. Final: A prototype version of the Dream Speed 8 featured the CR7 label on the upper of the boot, which was subsequently removed for the official release.
- Speculation: The removal of the CR7 label has sparked rumors of a potential conflict between Nike and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Just like the Mercurial Dream Speed 7, Nike has removed the CR7 label from the newly launched Mercurial Dream Speed 8 boots. Thanks to David Rau for giving us a close look at the Dream Speed 8 prototype.
Nike Removed CR7 Label From Nike Mercurial Dream Speed 8 Boots
The Nike Mercurial Dream Speed 8 prototype boot features the CR7 label on the right side of the boot, next to the MDS logo. However, in the official release, Nike removed the CR7 label and placed it on the insole.
As the MDS 008 prototype boot already has the CR7 label on the upper, the lining only has the MDS logo. For the official Nike version, the CR7 label was removed from the upper, so the CR7 logo was added to the insole.
Nike Mercurial Dream Speed 8 Prototype vs Final Product
This also happened with the Mercurial Dream Speed 7. Nike removed the CR7 label on the rear instep and eventually the CR7 logo was only on the insole. We still don't know why it was removed.
