No More SS Nazi Symbol: How the Fixed Germany Number 4 Could Look
- Adidas Response: Adidas stopped selling personalized German national football jerseys due to controversy over the number 4 resembling Nazi SS symbolism.
- Proposed Redesign: Footy Headlines suggests a new number 4 design that extends the right side to the top to avoid SS resemblance.
- Further Changes Possible: While other numbers may be reviewed, Adidas may need to make additional changes to the number 4 based on ongoing feedback.
Following recent controversy surrounding the number 4 on Germany's national football team jerseys, Adidas has taken a significant step by ceasing the sale of all personalized jerseys. This decision comes in response to comparisons between the design of the number 4 and Nazi symbolism (SS, created with two number 4), prompting widespread public outcry.
Footy Headlines Imagines Possible New Germany Kit Numer 4
In light of these developments, Footy Headlines has taken the initiative to envision a potential redesign for the contentious number 4.
Our alteration involves extending the right-hand part of the number all the way to the top, a small but effective configuration.
All other jersey numbers may also undergo review, but we do not expect any changes
Indeed, our new number 4 is rather reminiscent of the letter Y. This modification aims to address concerns regarding the resemblance to the letter S, while maintaining the 3D 1990s design.
However, it seems very well possible that Adidas may implement further adjustments to the number 4. People might be claiming that it still shows an S when removing the extra element and that Adidas was lazy.
All other jersey numbers may also undergo review, but we do not expect any changes.
Do you like our new number 4? Do you expect bigger or even more number changes? Let us know in the comments below.
