Mamelodi Sundowns Wears 2025 KidSuper Kit at FIFA Club World Cup After All

  • Mamelodi Sundowns Kit Update: Mamelodi Sundowns debuted their 2025 KidSuper kit at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 against Dortmund, likely as their third kit.
  • KidSuper Kit Usage: Initially, Mamelodi Sundowns were reported to not wear the bespoke KidSuper kit for the Club World Cup, being the only Puma-sponsored club not to utilize it, but instead wearing standard Puma jerseys.
  • Design Dissatisfaction: The likely reason for Mamelodi Sundowns' initial decision against wearing the KidSuper design was dissatisfaction with the proposed design, unlike other Puma clubs who are using it.

Update: Contrary to previous information, Mamelodi Sundowns have debuted their 2025 KidSuper kit at the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup 2025, in the match against Dortmund. This is likely to be the team's third kit for the tournament.

In a notable development surrounding Puma's special KidSuper collection for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns will not wear the bespoke artistic kit designed for them. Instead, the club is set to wear their standard Puma 24-25 home jersey and the unreleased 25-26 away kit for the tournament.

Puma x KidSuper 2025 Club World Cup Kits

Manchester City, Dortmund, Mamelodi Sundowns, Rayados, Al Hilal, Salzburg, and Palmeiras received special Puma kits for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

This decision makes Mamelodi Sundowns the only Puma-sponsored club participating in the Club World Cup not to utilize a KidSuper-designed kit in some capacity for the tournament. Puma had collaborated with KidSuper to create unique, art-driven jerseys for all their partnered teams in the competition.

While the exact reasons for Mamelodi Sundowns opting against wearing the KidSuper design are not officially confirmed, it is strongly suggested that the club may not have been satisfied with the proposed design.

This contrasts with other Puma clubs. However, some apparently did not 100% like KidSuper's designs.

Manchester City Uses KidSuper Kit as Away Option

Manchester City: Have decided to wear their regular 2025-26 Puma home kit as their primary choice for the Club World Cup, with their KidSuper jersey designated as the alternative/away option for the tournament.

Palmeiras: Had their initial KidSuper design (yeah, the "horrible palms design") altered before settling on a final version for the competition.

Mamelodi Sundowns' apparent decision to forgo the KidSuper kit entirely and stick with their regular Puma home strip and next season's yet-to-be-released away kit is a significant outlier.

The Sundowns will likely also not wear them as a keeper kit, as the keeper shots show the regular orange keeper top.
