Liverpool debuted a special ‘Play On’ front-of-shirt logo of their sponsor, Standard Chartered, against Manchester United today, but the debut didn’t go smoothly.

Parts of the ‘Play On’ logo peeled off of Gakpo's shirt during the match. This was probably due to a failed heat-applied application - too short, with too less heat. or just problems with the Adidas kit material (first season with Adidas, previous seasons with Nike).

The Play On campaign, created with Standard Chartered, aims to highlight the importance of keeping girls involved in sport.

Vietnamese shirt enthusiasts Chuyện Áo Đấu were quick to compare to success with the club’s previous ‘Futuremakers’ special edition - which had seen only victories, while today brought a 2-1 loss.
