Nike Tiempo 2026 Soccer Cleats - Comeback of Tongue & Leather for Second-Tier Version
According to our information, the next-generation Nike Tiempo 2026 soccer cleats will come in two totally different versions - a synthetic and a leather model. The synthetic model is called "Maestro", while the leather model is called "Ligera".
While you first would think that Nike offers two different top models, the leather is reserved for the second-most-expensive model, called "Ligera Pro" (The Pro marks the second-best model in Nike's naming system).
Virgil van Dijk tested both models of the Nike Tiempo Ligera soccer cleats, which is actually a takedown. It remains to be seen whether van Dijk will opt for the leather model in the end - it is very unusual for a player to wear a takedown, but it would definitely boost the leather option.
In 2023, Nike announced that they would stop using k-leather in their football boots, with the Tiempo and Premier lines affected. However, the decision was quietly and slightly reversed, as the Premier III with kangaroo leather made a comeback and the synthetic Premier IV was scrapped. Kangaroo leather, still, does not come to the Tiempo yet again, if ever.
Nike Tiempo Maestro Elite - Price around 250 Euro
The Nike Tiempo Maestro Elite football boots are fully synthetic. The upper comes with flowing, wave-like ridges, giving it a sculpted and aerodynamic appearance. They have a knitted Flyknit low-collar entry.
Nike Tiempo Ligera Pro- Price around 150 Euro
The Nike Tiempo Ligera soccer cleats follow a traditional design. They look quite similar to the Nike Premier boots, with quilted leather in the forefoot area for a perfect touch.
Nike Tiempo Ligera Pro FT - Price around 150 Euro
The Nike Tiempo Ligera Pro FT (Fold-Over Tongue) is the same as the Ligera Pro but with a tongue.
