Adidas to Keep Big Three Stripes for 2027-28 Season

The massive new Three Stripes are set to make their grand debut this year for the 2026 World Cup, before being rolled out across all major club teams for the 2026-27 season.

Many fans hoped this might be a one-year experiment. However, our latest intel confirms that Adidas will continue to utilize this prominent design language throughout 2027 and into the 2027-28 club season.

While there is no denying that the significantly thicker new stripes provide unparalleled brand visibility for Adidas on the pitch, the move has not been popular with everyone.

As we noted when we first revealed the 2026 template, the sheer size of the stripes tends to completely dominate the shoulder area. For many, this throws off the balance of the shirt and makes the overall aesthetic noticeably worse.

Unsurprisingly, the design has faced widespread criticism from a majority of kit enthusiasts who feel it is simply too obtrusive.

Love it or hate it, it seems we will all have to get used to this 'eyesore' design choice for at least the next two full seasons.

Are you disappointed that Adidas is keeping the oversized Three Stripes for 2027-28, or are they starting to grow on you? Let us know in the comments below.
