The Christ the Redeemer Brazil shirt was created by independent designer CfkDesigns as a concept in 2024 (hire him, Nike), and then produced thousands of times by counterfeiters. The official England release displays comparable aesthetic elements with saints and religious figures in a monochromatic gray palette.

However, Palace actually entered the religious football kit design scheme before the Brazil Christ the Redeemer kit was created. Palace released similar designs in 2022 and 2023.

We likely will never find out if Palace wanted to "copy" the Brazil idea, or if it is just a coincidence.
