All 'Golden' Patches on Argentina Messi' World Cup 2026 Kit

  • Argentina's World Cup 2026 Opener: Argentina secured a commanding 3-0 victory against Algeria in their 2026 World Cup opening match, featuring a hat-trick from Lionel Messi.
  • Standard Champion Badges: Messi's kit featured two standard gold tournament badges for reigning champions: the FIFA World Champions Badge on the chest and the Golden World Cup Sleeve Badge on the right sleeve.
  • Messi's Exclusive Personal Patches: Messi's unique shirt included personal patches like the Legacy Patch, commemorating his record of playing in six World Cups, and the Golden Ball Patch, honoring his 2022 World Cup Golden Ball award.

Argentina enjoyed a highly successful opening match at the 2026 World Cup, securing a convincing 3-0 victory against Algeria. Unsurprisingly, the spotlight belonged entirely to Lionel Messi. At 38 years old, the legendary forward netted a sublime hat-trick while sporting a unique Argentina shirt loaded with special golden badges and patches.

Argentina Messi's World Cup 2026 Kit

The new Argentina Messi 2026 World Cup opening-match jersey features a collection of sleeve and chest detailing that represents the pinnacle of international achievement.

First are the two standard gold tournament badges designated for the reigning champions:

  • FIFA World Champions Badge: Positioned dead center on the chest, honoring Argentina's title run at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
  • Golden World Cup Sleeve Badge: Applied to the right sleeve, the gold-toned official tournament logo signifies Argentina's status as historic winners of the competition.

Argentina 2026 World Cup Home Kit Released

In addition to the collective team honors, Messi’s shirt features two highly exclusive personal patches celebrating his unique individual legacy:

  • The Legacy Patch: Located on the right sleeve directly below the main tournament logo, this patch honors players who have participated in at least five World Cups.

By stepping onto the pitch against Algeria, Messi officially became the first player in football history to actually play in six distinct World Cup tournaments. (Note: Mexico's Guillermo Ochoa was also named to a sixth World Cup squad but did not feature in his team's opening fixture).

  • The Golden Ball Patch: Placed on the lower section of the left sleeve, this tiny golden shield honors Messi as the official winner of the 2022 World Cup Golden Ball.

This is a very difficult detail to notice, as Messi's captain's armband completely covered the Golden Ball Patch throughout the entire time he was on the pitch. Shout out to kit expert Chuyện Áo Đấu for the excellent spot!

FC Luzern 2026-27 Away Kit Released

The new FC Luzern 2026-27 away kit has been officially released. Made by Erreà, the shirt will be worn during the club's 26-27 Swiss Super League campaign and follows the release of their 125th-anniversary home kit earlier in May.

The Erreà FC Luzern 2026-27 away shirt draws inspiration from one of the city's most representative architectural landmarks, the Jesuit Church. It features a sophisticated tone-on-tone ornamental pattern that runs discreetly across the fabric. A striking blue vertical stripe, enhanced by a subtle golden trim, runs down the center of the shirt, paying homage to the club's traditional colors and adding a touch of elegance to the overall design.

The new Erreà FC Luzern 2026-27 away jersey successfully connects the club's local heritage with a contemporary aesthetic. The kit is currently available to purchase through the official club store.
