Inter Milan to Wear Sponsorless Kit Against Real Madrid

  • Sponsorless Kit: Inter Milan will play their UEFA Champions League match against Real Madrid without a front-of-shirt sponsor.
  • Compliance with Spanish Law: The absence of the Betsson Sport logo is mandated by Spain's Royal Decree 958/2020, which prohibits gambling company advertising on sports jerseys.
  • Temporary Arrangement: This sponsor-free appearance is a one-match solution for the game in Spain, with Betsson Sport returning for future fixtures where permitted by local regulations.

Inter Milan will take to the pitch without a front-of-shirt sponsor in their UEFA Champions League match against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu. The Nerazzurri have removed the Betsson Sport logo from the chest of their jerseys in order to comply with Spanish advertising laws.

Spanish Regulations Force Clean Look for Inter Milan 2026-2027 Kit

The absence of the sponsor is mandated by Spain's Royal Decree 958/2020, which prohibits gambling companies and associated betting portals from advertising on sports jerseys and athletic apparel. While UEFA equipment regulations permit a central sponsor, they explicitly require visiting clubs to adhere to the host nation's domestic legislation. During a previous trip to Madrid to face Atlético Madrid, the sponsor opted to pay a regulatory fine to keep the branding on the shirt, but no such arrangement was made for this fixture.

The clean, sponsor-free appearance is strictly a one-match solution for the match in Spain. Betsson Sport is set to return to the front of Inter's kit for their next domestic league fixtures and upcoming European matches where local regulations permit the branding.

First Time in 12 Years: Juventus Bring Back Long-Sleeved Kits on Pitch

Making his Juventus debut in the match against AC Milan, Nick Woltemade was the only Juventus player on the pitch wearing long sleeves. Excluding special-edition kits, the German strike became the first Bianconeri player made this choice since Andrea Pirlo and Claudio Marchisio back in the 13-14 season.

Remarkably, even Cristiano Ronaldo, a long-sleeve icon, never wore one during his time in Turin.

Liverpool Could Use a Text-Only Turkish Airlines Sponsor?

Liverpool have announced that Turkish Airlines will become the club's new shirt sponsor from the 2027-28 season, ending the Reds' 17-year partnership with Standard Chartered.

While early fan concepts have used Turkish Airlines' familiar circular bird logo above the wordmark, a text-only sponsor could also be a realistic option.

The airline previously used a simplified two-line “TURKISH AIRLINES” wordmark on River Plate's shirts between 2019 and 2022, while Turkish clubs such as Galatasaray and Samsunspor have also used streamlined typographic versions of the branding.

A text-only layout could give Liverpool's future Adidas shirts a cleaner, less crowded look. The final sponsor application has yet to be confirmed, with the partnership set to begin in June 2027.
