Fortuna Düsseldorf released its new 2018-2019 Bundesliga away kit recently, taking design cues from a subway line.

The new Düsseldorf away jersey is light grey with a subtle graphic print that recalls memories of the early 1990s. Even more interesting though, the shirt draws inspiration from the city of Düsseldorf in an unique way.

The pattern on the Düsseldorf 2018-19 away kit directly derives from the design of the subway station along the Wehrhahnlinie, an important subway line in Düsseldorf. It consists of diamonds that transition from irregular to more regular shapes.

Further paying homage to Düsseldorf, there's a detailed graphic on the inside neck of the new Düsseldorf away shirt.
