Mexico Used the Wrong Font on Guillermo Ochoa's Farewell Tribute Jersey

Guillermo Ochoa received an official tribute from the Mexican Football Federation ahead of Mexico's friendly against Chile at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Honoring a storied international career spanning a national-record 154 caps and appearances across six World Cups, the veteran goalkeeper was presented with a framed pink Mexico goalkeeper shirt featuring his iconic name and number, "G.OCHOA 13".

However, shirt enthusiast account @TigresJersey quickly spotted a noticeable printing blunder on the presentation piece. The commemorative framed shirt was customized using the wrong Adidas typeface, carrying the blocky, angular typography created for Mexico's 2026 away kit instead of the standard font intended for the shirt.

A side-by-side comparison with match-prepared kits reveals the error plainly. While the correct goalkeeper customization features smooth, rounded characters, the framed jersey was pressed with the sharp, three-dimensional drop-shadow numbers designated for the away strip. While the mix-up does not diminish Ochoa's legendary legacy with El Tri, it makes for a curious detail on such an official keepsake.

Argentina Debuts Special 2026 Lionel Messi 'Farewell' Kit

Argentina officially debuted a special-edition Adidas kit created to honor Lionel Messi in his final international appearance. Worn during Argentina's 3-0 victory against Benin at the Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires, the entire squad took the pitch in the bespoke uniform as the 39-year-old icon closed the curtain on an extraordinary 21-year career with La Albiceleste.

The shirt steps away from the nation's traditional multi-stripe layout in favor of a flag-inspired look, featuring a wide central white stripe bordered by sky blue. In a historic first for an official match shirt, Adidas replaced its standard performance logo on the right chest with Messi's personal metallic gold "M" emblem.

The design is further highlighted by an oversized Sun of May (Sol de Mayo) graphic radiating across the front and back, alongside gold numbering, names, trim, and a gold-accented three-star AFA crest.

Paired with black shorts and white socks that both carry matching gold and sky-blue detailing, the kit forms the centerpiece of the commemorative Messi Farewell capsule released by Adidas in late September 2026.

The night proved to be a fitting finale, as Messi delivered a goal and two assists before delivering an emotional goodbye speech to the Monumental crowd.

Náutico 26-27 Third Kit Released - First Ever Horizontal Stripes

Clube Náutico Capibaribe and Reebok have officially revealed the club's new third shirt for the 26-27 season. In a first for the Brazilian side, the design adopts red and white horizontal hoops instead of their traditional vertical stripes, introduced under the concept "Mude a Perspectiva" (Change the Perspective).

The Reebok Náutico 26-27 third jersey features alternating red and white hoops across the body, complemented by white breathable mesh panels running down the flanks and a red crossover V-neck collar. On the left chest, the shirt swaps the standard club crest for a heritage emblem showing crossed oars with the "CNC" initials and a vintage football, referencing the club's nautical origins. The Reebok Vector logo sits on the right chest in red.

The new strip is scheduled to make its on-pitch debut in Náutico's Série B clash against Novorizontino at the Estádio dos Aflitos.

Giant Argentina Jersey Installed in Rosario for Lionel Messi Farewell

Ahead of Lionel Messi's final appearance for the Argentina national team, his hometown of Rosario paid tribute with a massive installation. Placed directly in front of the iconic Monumento Nacional a la Bandera, Adidas laid out an enormous, 30-meter-long replica of Argentina's Albiceleste shirt across the plaza to celebrate the captain's historic international career.

The giant tribute mirrors the design of the special-edition farewell collection created for Messi's final match. Featuring Argentina's traditional light blue and white stripes with gold accents, the back prominently showcases his number 10, the Adidas performance emblem, the Messi signature logo, and the word "GRACIAS" across the shoulders. The installation was accompanied by lighting towers arranged for an audiovisual projection mapping show that celebrated key milestones from his time with La Albiceleste.

The tribute coincided with Messi's farewell match against Benin at the Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires. Celebrating a legendary international journey highlighted by continental triumphs and the 2022 World Cup title, the monument installation served as a fitting send-off from the city where the Argentine superstar first kicked a ball.
