New Shirt Sponsor: Flamengo to Launch Digital Bank with BRB - Not Amazon After All
Flamengo In an unexpected mode following the very strong links to Amazon, Flamengo on Friday announced a shirt sponsorship deal with Banco de Brasília (BRB), which will initially run for a year.
BRB replaces Banco BS, another bank, which had cancelled its deal with the club earlier this year in a “strategic decision” - it's been rumored that Covid-19 pandemic was to blame for that one.
The deal between Flamengo and BRB will commence on July 1 and will see the bank create a new digital bank joint venture with the football club. This venture will run for an initial three years, which can be extended for two more.
The president of Brasília, Paulo Henrique Costa, had the following to say: "This is an unprecedented initiative. When everyone thought that we would sponsor Flamengo, we came with a novelty that will generate profits for both partners and, in the case of BRB, help to project the bank nationally. A commitment from our management."
"The bank's goal in joining a football team is to increase its client portfolio by engaging fans with the brand. "There is an affective relationship of millions of Brazilians with Flamengo. So, every time they make any move in this digital bank, they'll be sure they're collaborating for their team of heart," added the executive."
Depending on how many Flamengo fans will choose to sign up - the bank hopes to sway them with unique benefits such as exclusive pre-sales of tickets and discounts on official products - Flamengo will earn more or less from this unique partnership. However, a minimum of R$32 million will be paid per year, which is already almost twice as much as under the previous deal.
"It is one of the most important banks in the country. Flamengo will enter with a number of properties, the engagement of its fans, their participation in social media. Even the master space of his shirt. We will develop with them a series of products, in which we will have participations, financial products, like insurance, credit cards, a series of things. It is important that the fans know that, once this is done, Flamengo will also have a part of the benefit of all these products that will be developed," said Rodolfo Landim, Flamengo's president.

All-New Ligue 3 Revealed
The French Football Federation (FFF) has officially announced the launch of the fully professional "Ligue 3" for the upcoming 2026-2027 season, permanently replacing the current third-tier Championnat National. This historic move marks the first time the FFF will directly organize a professional men's league.
As part of this major restructuring of the French football pyramid, the lower divisions will also be renamed for better clarity: the current National 2 will become National 1, and National 3 will shift to National 2. The newly formed 18-team Ligue 3 aims to bring greater financial stability, technological innovation such as a coaches' video challenge system, and increased exposure to the division, with all 309 matches set to be broadcast exclusively on the Ligue 1+ platform.
To mark this monumental transition, the FFF has also introduced a completely new visual identity for the competition. The rebranding is centered around a modern logo that combines the rectangular shape of a football pitch with the tiered structure of a stadium grandstand. This design visually embodies the league's new official slogan, "Terrain de rencontres" (Meeting Ground), aiming to highlight the intersection of professional ambition and popular, locally rooted football.
